What’s better than cute new activewear? How about cute new activewear that’s sustainably made?
Mega-Aussie fitness brand Muscle Nation has just launched a brand-new collection of activewear with former WBFF world champion Hattie Boydle. The best part? Each piece in the HBxMN collection is made of a minimum of 75% recycled materials. They’ve even made the packaging completely compostable.
Now, we know what you’re thinking; “Sustainably made is great, but only if it can handle my workout.“
Well, don’t panic. The whole range has been tried and tested for a year to ensure it is squat-proof, sweat-proof, stretch-proof, and every other kind of proof you need. The team was determined to make a range of environmentally friendly clothes that wouldn’t just end up in the back of your wardrobe and would stand the test of time. Testing even included shoving the new pieces into the washing machine with rough, nasty gym towels to check they wouldn’t reshape, and the material wouldn’t be affected.
Nathanial Anthony, CEO and Co-Founder of the brand, said: “When Hattie approached us about developing an environmentally friendly range, we immediately began researching what was possible within the realms of making sure the quality of our product and design was not compromised.”
And they certainly achieved their goals. The material for the range has been made by combing recycled polyester with other plastic waste. This mixture is then sorted by colour, melted, and spun into yarn, which is then woven to create the fabric. This smart tech makes the range super durable and long-lasting, so you can train without worry.
If you want to get your hands on the collection, then you need to get a move on; they’re selling out fast! There’s everything from bralettes, leggings, bike shorts, and crop tops in a range of colours, so there is something for everyone no matter your style. If you need an excuse for more activewear, don’t forget; buying from the new sustainable range is good for the planet!
Muscle Nation ambassador Hattie Boydle who approached the brand to discuss an environmentally friendly collection, said: “I am thrilled to see my vision for an environmentally friendly activewear range come to life and am so proud to have been involved in the development and design process of this collection.”
The new range reflects the brand’s ethos of living an active lifestyle while making healthy choices that benefit your body and the world around you. Alongside the new sustainable collection, Muscle Nation has also moved towards paperless processing in its warehouse as well as introducing new compostable packaging.
Although this is the brand’s first sustainably-made collection, we’d be willing to bet it won’t be the last.
